This is great news for our fellow residence who live along the Westmount Corridor. Not only we avoid having trains running from 5 am to 1 am, the new line to the West Island is direct competition with Vaudreuil-Hudson line, as well the Caisse has some influence as they will want to maximize their profits. The question is now what will happen to the Vaudreuil-Hudson line? Out of the three lines that run on the corridor, this line has the most traffic and the only one that runs during the weekends. Let’s see what happens.
Recently the Liberal Party has committed if elected in the October 19th Federal Election, they would help invest in a Rapid Transit System from downtown to the Trudeau Airport/West Island. WTAG supports any initiative that would consider residences’ health that would live along the proposed corridor by investing the latest technology such as light rail.
